I recently had a phone interview with an organization in Boston where I applied to be the office manager. I am pretty sure I didn’t get the position, but there was a few things said during he interview that were really nice to hear. The founder of the organization was the person with whom I interviewed. He noted how well my cover letter was written and that I had a way with words (or something like that) and all this made me feel pretty good, especially since I quoted Oprah in that cover letter. One day someone will appreciate my Oprah quote followed by an Oprah joke in my cover letter and hire me - I am sure of it. He also said that he was worried I was overqualified and would be bored (which is why I don’t think I got the job).

I am going to take this interview as a positive even though it didn’t really work out as far as I know. Maybe I am doing at least one thing right in this job search process. I’m going on a year and a half since my last full time job. I just need to keep applying and keep staying positive.
