I think I need help.

I have been sitting here at my laptop reading job postings, applying to them, and then repeating the cycle. I have a few jobs right now, but none that are full time with benefits. I know I’ve written many times at length about all of this before, but I am just not sure what to do any more.

I was looking at jobs that I could do and do very well, but no matter how many times I have applied to jobs just like this I barely get any acknowledgement that theses companies have even received my resume & cover letter. Maybe I need to rewrite my cover letter and resume again? I have had multiple people read it and even received compliments on the cover letter, but obviously it’s not working.

I was followed by a company on twitter last week that I applied to as their social media manager - it’s like a small digital stab in the back. I applied for another job and then started receiving their newsletters weekly - another digital stab in the back. My back is getting sore.

I haven’t even been as picky as I was when I first was laid off almost two years ago. I had this attitude that I am going to change things, change my life. Do a job that I really want to do, something creative, something that I am passionate about, but I have reached a point where that is gone and I just need something. I don’t even know how to get it at this point. I am getting no calls back, no emails, nothing. I know a lot of people, but no one in the Boston area has any leads on anything.

I’m sorry. I didn’t mean for this to get whiny.

I am a couple paragraphs from finishing the first chapter in the young adult book I am writing. I am really excited about this, but in the meantime I need a job and that is really occupying so much of my thoughts that it is taking way to long to write creatively.

My next post will be my 10,000th and hopefully by the time I reach this kind of milestone again on this blog things will be different in much more positive way.

So, I’ll ask again. If you know any jobs that I could telecommute to or are located in the Boston area in the social media, content management, writing/editing, non-profit management, office/operations management or anything else really send them my way or at least some good thoughts.

I have two posts until I reach 10,000 posts on this blog and I wanted to use them to write something insightful or whatever, but then I did something this morning and figured that is really more indicative of me and my life.

I was getting ready to leave the house and my boyfriend was walking in front of me in the hallway. I’m not sure what possessed me to pants him, but I do impulsive things every so often and assume I must have had a large chemical release in my brain from the mountain dew that I just drank at 9:00am. The pantsing didn’t go as smoothly as I wanted it to, though. As I went to reach for his pants, my hands slipped because he was wearing slippery track pants and I fell face first into his ass and then onto the floor. I pulled myself off the ground from laughter and was sure I broke my nose for a few minutes (his ass is surprisingly hard), but I was pretty much fine.

So, two more posts until I reach 10,000 - maybe one of them will be good.
